  • I teach foundational guitar, which means I focus on broad skills that apply to most basic genres, like rock and pop. I don’t specialize in styles that I’m less familiar with, such as advanced jazz or metal.

  • Both! Most foundational skills apply to either instrument. Whether you’re strumming chords on an acoustic or learning riffs on an electric, we can tailor lessons to your goals.

  • Absolutely. I incorporate music theory into lessons in a practical, easy-to-understand way—especially theory that applies directly to the guitar.

  • I’m comfortable teaching students ages 8 and up. If you’re under 18, you’ll just need permission from a parent or legal guardian.

  • These lessons are designed for beginner to early intermediate players, especially those interested in rock, pop, or acoustic guitar.

  • That’s totally okay! These lessons are made for beginners. I’ll meet you right where you’re at and help you build up your skills step by step.

  • Yes, you’ll need your own guitar so you can practice between lessons. If you’re note sure what kind to get, feel free to reach out—I’m happy to help you choose one that fits your goals and budget.

  • Online lessons are held over video chat (like Zoom or Google Meet). You’ll just need a decent internet connection, your guitar, and a quiet space to play. I’ll send you any materials you need ahead of time.

  • Lessons are currently online only. However, if you happen to live in the Chicago area, feel free to contact me and we can try to work something out.

  • Lessons are 30 or 60 minutes long. Most students will benefit from weekly lessons, but I’m flexible based on your schedule and learning pace.

  • Things happen and life is unpredictable, so I understand if you need to reschedule. If you can, please give at least 24 hours’ notice if you need to cancel or reschedule a lesson.

  • There’s no catch! I want guitarists to have access to the resources I wish I had when I was learning. Helping others reach their musical goals is what I’m all about.

  • I do my best to make my diagrams clear and easy to follow, but they might be trickier if you’re newer to guitar. If you need a quick clarification, feel free to use the contact form. Otherwise, consider booking a one-on-one lesson so we can go through it together.
